And like a moth to flame, I am suckered right in.

Oh the disdain of my contemporaries, I feel it and regret it. Female literature, double sided human being, preach one thing - read another.

Okay, do you honestly think that I should have all young men sit down and read this?  The first novel I was able to have my son sit down and read was "The Black Pirate."

On the other hand - where have I been all of my life?  I have often moved away from the Wind in the Willows, knowing full well that I would be brought in full tilt, never to escape.  And it happened.  I love this book.

It is not my fault entirely and I don't expect anyone else to follow suit but I need my escapes.  And besides a little more Wind in the Willow and a little less Wii Medal of Honor make the boy more man than moron. Perhaps

But yes, it was I who said don't give in  - we are over femaled we need some more hard core men in teaching, coaching and all around being in our children's lives.  No more escapes into this or that learning disability.  Move on move hard and never let up.

I don't know, I really don't see either on of my grandfathers (yes whom I adored) sitting down and reading this to any small children.  They would snicker, find some excuse outside and pretend they didn't see this waste of time.

But I on the other hand, while Bill is asleep in his recliner will light up my Sony reader and read again the brave and silly exploits of Toad and wonder just a bit too at his change in the end.
